Body Heat

I’ve always wanted to explore where no one has gone. To go on death-defying expeditions. Research new technologies to survive impossible conditions. Steel cut-proof socks, Gore-tex materials to trap body heat and keep the skin dry in cold torrential monsoons. Searching endlessly for the one knife or hatchet that could build endless more tools from nature. Then, looking back in history, I realized that tools were simply made from the earth. I’m in love with the idea that a hatchet could be made from nothing but two stones, and from that, a cabin could be built, a fireplace. With a hatchet, anyone can survive a blizzard, and make tools to trap and secure food. After building a cabin, I’d want to build a castle and have a farm. But also, I’m pretty chill right now in these sweatpants with this cup of coffee.

Dark Abyss

As a child, I picked up that gigantic book of Jacques Cousteau’s adventures, looking at his pictures I was captivated, the rest of the world seemed so plain. I imagined exploring the vast sea. Then I discovered the loch ness monster, yes I know it was hoaxed in a bathtub, but still, it made me want venture deep into the dark cold abyss and come face to face with the Architeuthis, or maybe the Megalodon. I still remember seeing the ocean for the first time and hearing the loud crashing waves, I felt like it was calling for me. But also, snorkeling in the tropics and napping on the beach with tequila and lime would be pretty nice.

Deep Jungle

The Congo is very much unexplored, locals have gone on record to state they have seen what we describe as dinosaurs. Although unbelievable, if we stop and think about the fact that we still have species that are almost unchanged from prehistoric times, the Shoebill of East Africa or the Gharial of India for example, then what else might be in the Congo?

Thousands of species of plants and animals are discovered every year…..Something inside of me wants to find out and explore but the urge is not without catharsis. Maybe there are undiscovered plants with medicinal properties that could save lives, maybe there are relics from ancient civilizations, and maybe it would just be fucking cool to see a Pterodactyl.

Winter Solitude

Ice capped mountains, crunching snow beneath every step. The first morning, silence in the air, looking out the window and the world is Kurosawa-esque. Like any other adventure, it lives inside of me to want to go on an expedition and survive nature’s wrath, a blizzard, an unending tundra… but also…. snowboarding, ATV and ice-fishing would be pretty proper. Might as well finish the day by getting smashed in a hot-tub under the falling snow, sounds good yeah?
